Yoga Etiquette
- Come on time and sign in at desk
- Dress in light, comfortable, non-restrictive clothing for class
- Be mindful of your neighbor’s space and visibility in the mirror
- Pause during class to recline or sit if experiencing dizziness or nausea
- Give 100% honest effort in every posture, while knowing one’s physical exercise limitations and exercising within them
- Pay attention to classroom instruction
- Try to refrain from using hand towels as a support in postures and make every effort to work through the sweat
- Make use of the times allowed for sipping water in class keeping your mind focused and free from distractions
- Upon entering the yoga room, release expectations, open your mind and trust the process
- It is better to sit down and relax than to jump up and leave the classroom. However, if it is absolutely necessary, please return to the room when class is in savasana rather than in a posture
- Observe silence while class in session
- Remember to relax, breath and appreciate the work you are doing to restore your health and well-being while in the yoga postures
- In final savasana, if you have to leave early, please do so quietly and save conversation with friends until you get outside the room
Note:
You may not be allowed to join the class after the Half Moon warm up. If you do come in late, be sure to do at least 10 pranayama deep breathing exercises and join the class on 2nd set of Half Moon
